Furlough Excheme Extended to 30 April 2021 @ 80%

The Chancellor has announced today that the Furlough scheme is to be extended to 30 April 2021 and will be maintained at 80% for the whole of the time.

New Test to Release for International Travel Scheme Launches
15 December 2020
New voluntary COVID testing scheme for people returning to England from locations not on the Travel Corridor list.
- Voluntary scheme which applies to those self-isolating in England only.
- Under the scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test and if negative, you can stop self-isolating
- Earliest test can be taken is 5 full days after you left the location not on the travel corridor list.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE PUBLISHED FROM HMRC TODAY
13th November 2020
From 1 December 2020, no Furlough can be claimed for notice periods.
For claim periods starting on or after 1 December 2020, employers will no longer be able to claim for any days on or after 1 December 2020 during which the employee was serving a contractual or statutory notice period, including people serving notice to retire or resignation.

Update on Furlough and Shielding

Great news today with the Chancellor announcing an extension of Furlough until 31 March 2021 but will review the policy in January to decide whether economic circumstances are improving enough to ask employers to contribute more.
