Now with less than a month to go, I want to take this opportunity to ask for your support. On the 23rd June, I will be taking to the dance floor at this year’s Pavilion Dance South West ‘Business Come Dancing Summer Ball’ charity event. With just a few weeks left I need your help to reach my sponsorship target!
Stepping out of the office and my everyday role as Purple HR’s Recruitment Coordinator, I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to not only represent the company but also raise money for some excellent local charities. So far, the training has been quite a fun challenge and to my surprise, I have discovered a love for contemporary dance. It is in this expressive style that I will compete against other business people from across Dorset as they strut their stuff in the name of charity. Whilst I may not be the best dancer I’ve certainly improved my chances with the help of my professional dancing partner. Even if I don’t win it will be a good laugh for a great cause!
Overcoming my stage fright, I was inspired to enter this competition because I am a passionate supporter of both Dance for Parkinson’s and the Lewis-Manning Hospice. Parkinson’s Dance creates opportunities for people who are suffering from the disease to experience and participate in dance. Dance can provide a relaxed and sociable environment for people with Parkinson’s to exercise both their body and mind. Another great cause, the Lewis-Manning Hospice provides free care and support for people in Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset who are living with cancer and other limiting illnesses.
One of these charities, in particular, is very close to my heart. I would, therefore, like to ask for your help so I can reach my target and raise over £250 for the charities. I’m already half way there so any amount you can spare will be hugely appreciated.
