They are now looking for a Seamstress/Tailor to join their busy team.
Reporting to the Alterations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing all alteration fittings and sewing services within agreed time frames, to meet our customers’ needs. We are looking for an outgoing and self-motivated individual, with excellent technical sewing skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities will include:
Greeting all alterations customers
Altering bridal gowns and dresses as directed
Press, steam and spot clean garments/merchandise where necessary
Following quality control guidelines and inspecting all garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery
Schedule alterations appointments in person or via telephone as needed
Fill out alterations tickets accurately, ensuring corrects fees and pricing
Partnering with Stylist to validate garment fit and suggest product additions where appropriate
Ensure accurate and timely clock-in and clock-out for scheduled shifts
Ensure the alterations room is consistently maintained in a clean, well-organised manner
Perform other duties as assigned my Store Management
A passion for fashion, and for going the extra mile to make David’s Bridal customers look and feel fantastic
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience of working as a seamstress, or studying Fashion Textiles
Experience of working in a retail environment desirable
Ability to energetically create a supportive environment and work well with other team members
