Factory Manager

Location:  Ringwood

Position:   Permanent, full time. Monday to Frida, 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts:        Early/Late shifts between the hours of 7am – 7pm.

Salary:       £competitive DOE

Our Client is a leading beverage manufacturer specialising in cooking wines and associated products. To meet with strategic growth plans, they are now looking for a Factory Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of HACCP and will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the factory.  This will include hands on team management, and training, with particular emphasis on planning and forecasting to ensure production is running at peak efficiency and maximising profitability.  You will also be responsible for developing processes that will maximise safety, quality and productivity.

Key responsibilities

  • To plan, organise and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet changing demands
  • Take responsibility to production output, quality and on-time shipping
  • Implementation of strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives, providing a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Ensure full departmental compliance with policy, procedure and legislation at all times
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement
  • To strive to reduce waste, in all its forms
  • Work and maintain a BRC Grade A Level
  • Maintaining an ‘audit ready’ department and mindset, ensuring your team understand and meet all performance criteria
  • Work with Production Manger to ensure regular stock takes are completed regularly
  • To identify training requirements and implement learning and development plans as required
  • To strive to meet and exceed where possible, all department KPIs and those of the wider business
  • To undertake duties/training as determined by the needs of the business


  • An understanding of the bacterial risks in beverage and food packaging
  • A demonstratable track record of managing large teams with strong leadership skills, ideally within a food/beverage manufacturing/production environment
  • Dairy experience
  • HACCP qualification
  • Good verbal and written communication, and a sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Reliability, flexibility, tact and diplomacy, with the ability to drive improvements in standards and behaviours
